In association with the commencement of the Planning Act 2016 on 3 July 2017, a number of new mapping layers were added to the DA mapping system as noted below. The intention of these new mapping layers is to assist users in identifying and managing state interests.

As part of SARA’s initiative to co-locate all mapping associated with development assessment, the DA mapping system now includes mapping layers related to assessment benchmarks under the State Planning Policy (SPP) 2017.

In association with this, the public passenger transport corridor layer previously shown in the DA mapping system has been split to be specific to each mode of transport. This will make it clearer to users which form of infrastructure may impact on, or be impacted by, their development, and which SDAP codes they will be required to address. The SPP supports the changes made in SDAP v2.0, by differentiating public transport corridors, specific to each mode of transport.
